Weinberg College passes the $250 million mark in the University’s historic fundraising campaign

Five years ago, Northwestern University declared “We Will” — and so did Weinberg College.

The College recently reached the $250 million mark in We Will. The Campaign for Northwestern, thanks to the generosity of more than 10,000 donors.

Recently, the University announced that more than 121,000 donors had enabled the Campaign to raise more than $3 billion to date in its historic fundraising effort.

As Weinberg College Dean Adrian Randolph begins his second year, the College is poised to celebrate this fundraising milestone while setting its aspirations even higher. The Campaign has supported many significant accomplishments at the College over the past five years, including:

“I am beyond grateful to all those who have participated in this extraordinary effort,” Randolph said. “Their generosity will ensure that we can continue to prepare students with the interdisciplinary skills and mindset they will need to achieve anything they set out to do in this increasingly complex world. We look ahead with high hopes and even more ambitious plans for the College’s future.”

Those plans will prioritize a need-blind academic experience for all students, support for innovative teaching and research, and preparation for all Weinberg College community members to interact in a global world. In addition, three thematic areas will be the focus of research, teaching, and collaborations within the University community — Data, Culture, and Nature.

Launched in 2011, We Will. The Campaign for Northwestern is the University’s $3.75 billion fundraising effort involving a community of at least 141,000 donors to realize the bold ambitions set forth in Northwestern’s strategic plan, which includes discovery, student access and performance, the building of a vibrant and inclusive community, and local and global engagement.
