Considering studying abroad—for a summer, a quarter, or a year? Whether you’re considering a Northwestern-run program or a program run by another institution, you’ll find important information here.
The Global Learning Office (GLO) is an essential source of information about types of programs around the world as well as about the rules and processes for going abroad. Visit GLO for eligibility requirements and the application process. Your Weinberg Adviser and advisers in your major(s) and/or minor(s) will also be invaluable resources before, during, and after your time abroad.
When you return from studying abroad, you'll need to obtain a copy of your study abroad transcript. Unless you participated in a Northwestern study abroad program, your courses taken abroad will automatically be counted as elective credits. However there are additional steps if you wish to apply these credits to specific degree or major/minor requirements.
