Why did you choose Northwestern?
I wanted to be close to a major city but attend an institution that was separate from the bustling city life. Northwestern was the perfect choice!

What is one of your favorite memories from Arch?
My favorite memories have been the unstructured and random bonding moments during the summers I spent as both a Bridge counselor and a participant in the Bridge program. When I was in Bridge, we would have spontaneous home group picnics or baking competitions. As a counselor, we had frequent horror movie nights and played Assassin. These experiences allowed me to build stronger relationships with everyone in Bridge outside of assigned home groups.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
The rocks near north beach make really good picnic and study spots.

What's one piece of advice you would give to incoming students?
Your first year is not real. As silly as it sounds, freshman year does not set the trajectory for the next 3 years at Northwestern. It's important that you are open to new opportunities and experiences- talk to people you wouldn't normally talk to and take classes you wouldn't usually take. Allow yourself to have new experiences during the transition process, but also remember to stay in tune with your needs and practice self-forgiveness.

Why did you decide to be a Bridge counselor?
I chose to be a Bridge counselor (year 2 yay!) because I truly value the connections I've made throughout the last two years of participating in the program. There's no better feeling than finding a community that relates to you, especially at a top institution. I've learned so much from the people that I've met in this program, and I credit my successes to them. I found a family through Bridge, and I want to help others do the same.
