Outstanding WCAS staff members are honored at the 2014 appreciation luncheon
Six exemplary Weinberg College staff members were recognized at the annual Weinberg College Staff Appreciation lunch on Oct. 29, 2014 for their continuing commitment to excellence.
- Chris Comerford, director of information technology, received the Staff Mentor of the Year Award. This award recognizes a staff member who has shown outstanding leadership in coaching and mentoring other staff.
- Tricia Liu, a program assistant in the Department of Philosophy, and Pamela Villalovoz, a department assistant in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, received Community Excellence Awards. This award recognizes staff members who display approachability, collegiality, and enthusiasm and who contribute to a positive work environment for all.
- Carlos Ballinas, a program assistant in the Department of Latino/a Studies and Tory Helgeson, an administrative assistant in the Department of Chemistry, won Meteor Awards for Excellence in a New Position. This award is presented to staff members who have achieved excellence in a short period of time in a new position in the College and who display initiative, adaptability, resourcefulness and efficiency.
- Finally, Jennifer Britton, a program assistant in the Department of English, won the Dean’s Excellence Award. This award honors a staff member for their exemplary service, efficiency and leadership; consistently demonstrates an outward focus; and represents his or her department, the College and the University in a positive manner.
“Every year, we take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their continuing commitment to excellence,” Interim Dean Mark Ratner said. “Please join me in congratulating our winners and in thanking all of our staff for their dedicated work.”
