Alumni Panelists Share Career Advice and Wisdom

Alumni from a wide variety of fields are sharing their unexpected and rewarding career paths in a series of panels hosted by Weinberg College’s Office of Student-Alumni Engagement.

In each of the panels, the alumni have emphasized the flexibility and versatility of an arts and sciences degree.

“I use my history degree every day because modern healthcare is about solving problems, writing well and understanding how we got to where we are,” said physician Barbara Byrne ’89 at the Oct. “Thinking Beyond the MD” panel.

“With the broad problem-solving skill set I developed [at the College], some on-the-job learning and a lot of passion, my colleagues look to me as a resource,” economics major Hannah Singer ’14, who is now an analyst at DigitasLBi, told students at the business panel on Oct. 27.
