Taking Time Off from Your Studies
There may be a variety of reasons you need to miss classes. This page explains the policies around some common situations requiring time off.
Missing Class
If you miss more than two consecutive class meetings of a course for health or other reasons, you should contact the instructor to arrange for making up missed work. It is especially important if you miss several class meetings, if you miss an exam or oral presentation, or if you are unable to turn in class assignments on time. See policies and procedures for missed class.
Leaves of Absence
No special permission for a leave of absence is required. The College has no formal policy concerning the granting of leaves of absence, and you do not have to provide a reason for taking time off.
However when beginning your leave or returning from your leve, there may be procedural impacts for your registration, your netID, and other logistics. Medical leaves of absence are also covered. See policies and procedures for leaves of absence.
