The annual Weinberg College Career Summit is the best career exploration event for undergraduates curious about their post-grad options! What happened this year?

Over 200 students and 30+ alumni joined us the day before classes started to participate in the annual Weinberg College Career Summit, sponsored by the Waldron Student-Alumni Connections Program!

Students learned about valuable campus resources, practiced networking for the first time, and engaged with alumni mentors across almost every industry: finance, energy, sustainability, tech, social impact, healthcare, and more!

Our first-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors all found valuables insights throughout the day!

  • "There are many resources at NU for getting connected with alumni, and they’re usually very willing to help students."
  • "Connect with others in your field! Forming relationships and networking with professionals can teach you a lot about your industry and help you discover new opportunities."
  • "Be comfortable getting uncomfortable and not to rush yourself too much, as things will come to happen as long as you work hard."
  • "Take risks, be yourself and don't be afraid to explore."
  • "Be intentional about how you bring yourself to work. It’s okay to bring your passion and expertise but try not to bring your whole self to create more sustainable work life balance."
  • "Don’t be afraid to reach out to peers or alums."
  • "Enjoy college while you can— everything will turn out alright!"
  • "You need to take care of yourself (eg. eating and sleeping properly) before you can achieve career and academic goals."
  • "Rejection is redirection."
  • "To graduate in the age of AI is an asset not a disadvantage."
  • "There are so many ways to be in the healthcare field without being in primary care!"
  • "Northwestern prepares you very well with the necessary content and the school lets you connect with very interesting people as well."
