Weinberg College has created several resources to help staff who have responsibilities for finances in their department, program, or lab.
- Systems Access: Access to University systems for the purposes of executing and/or managing financial transactions is based on user Roles. New employees are automatically provisioned with the Employee Self Service role. A Security Access Form should be submitted to add or modify existing access.
- Training Plan: Our Financial Administrator Training Plan provides a list of required and recommended trainings, corresponding to the four access levels mentioned above. This guide includes systems-related training classes as well as classes that will help you develop the competencies needed to be an effective financial administrator. These competencies include:
- Ethics and integrity
- Tact and diplomacy
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Organization and results-orientation
For most staff, financial-related responsibilities are only one component of a multi-faceted role supporting a department, program. or lab. Weinberg Finance Staff are available to provide guidance, training, and advice; and our directory explains who to contact based on area of expertise.
