Aglow with Words

The walls of Deering Library were transformed March 12 into a celebration of light and poetry by Italian artist Marco Nereo Rotelli. Outside, the library glowed with the words of local poets writ large. Inside, the poets read from their work, and spectators wrote their own poems on a scroll across the library floor. Best known for his illuminations of European landmarks, Rotelli created the installation as the culmination of his residency at the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities.
