Staff Spotlight- Matt Carroll, Platforms Lead

Matthew Carroll is the Platforms Lead for Weinberg College IT.

How long have you been working at Northwestern?

I have been working at Northwestern for fifteen years. I spent the last six years working in the Graduate School as the main technology resource.

What excites you about your work at Northwestern University?

Helping to support the mission of University is very rewarding for me. I am fortunate that I have the opportunity to work on technology solutions in this environment. I am so excited to join a dynamic group of problem solvers that are driven to help Northwestern through the improved use of technology.

If you weren't in IT, what do you think you’d be doing?

I don’t know. I am motivated by helping others and solving problems, so it would most likely involve those two areas.

What’s something you like to do outside of work?

I have two young children (nine and five) so that takes up most of my time. On the rare occasions that I have time, I enjoy chess, racquetball, soccer, and a lot of other computer/programming related topics.
