Use the following information when completing proposals.
Useful data for forms
The SR webpage, Institutional Information, provides information commonly needed when completing grant applications, such as DUNS number, cognizant agency, Congressional district, Federalwide Assurance (FWA), and more.
F&A rate
The following information about Northwestern’s F&A rate is available on the OSR website:

Fringe benefit rates
The current and projected employee fringe benefit rates are available on the OSR website. There is also a statement that is required to be included in both federal and non-federal budget justifications.
Graduate Student rates
For graduate student Research Assistants (RAs) supported by sponsored projects, tuition and stipend are charged directly to the project.

Per diem rates
When preparing budgets for travel, domestic and foreign government per diem rates are a helpful tool.
NRSA rates
For NIH Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) proposals, the stipend, tuition and institutional allowance are pre-determined by NIH. ( updated 1.27.21)
NIH Salary Cap
Effective January 1, 2023, the NIH salary cap will be $212,100 for a 12 month appointment and $159,075 for 9 month appointments.
