Teaching Awards

WCAS Teaching Awards Ceremony 2021

Due to COVID-19 disruptions, the Weinberg College Teaching Awards have been put on hold for AY 2020-2021. The Dean’s Office will be using the opportunity to streamline the nomination process beginning in 2021-2022.

Each year, the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of the Provost recognize members of the College's tenure-line and teaching-track faculty for excellence in teaching. Weinberg College in addition recognizes the contributions of outstanding graduate student teachers in the instruction of its undergraduates.

The descriptions below give details about each kind of teaching award and the materials required to nominate candidates. Department chairs and program directors are invited to nominate candidates for awards.  In addition, professors who have had graduate teaching assistants may nominate a TA for the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award.  Finally, undergraduate students as well are invited to nominate outstanding teachers in Weinberg College using our online nomination form.  The deadline for all nominations and supporting materials is not available at this time.
